Strawberry Creatures

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

A creepy delicious chocolate strawberry for your little monsters!

The first thing to do is make your molding chocolate. You can buy this, of course, but this is an easy recipe and works really well. You will need to place into the refrigerator overnight.

When you get it out, it will be hard as a rock. You have to knead it a bit to warm it up so you can work with it. It doesn’t take long. Its easiest to pound it out pretty thin and then cut into strips. Then start to roll each tentacle with each strip.

When you have them rolled to your desired shape, bend them into creepy shapes for the tentacles and set aside and let them set up. If you want them really set, you need to let them sit all night long.

Next you make your strawberry mouths. The modeling chocolate doesn’t really stick to the juicy strawberry inside the wedge, neither does melted chocolate. I think the easiest thing to do it spread on the Nutella.

You could pipe teeth with royal icing but I like to add the slivered almonds. I think it looks creepy and its easy.

I crush up Oreos as a nice base but you could use whatever, graham cracker crumbs, cookie crumbs… Then just assemble your creatures, dipping the edges into melted chocolate and sticking to the sides.
