A light and creamy homemade lotion that is made with all natural ingredients.
I have had dry skin and other skin complications for years. I am allergic to most name brand lotions. After researching the ingredients trying to figure out some answers, I found I didn’t WANT to put all those chemicals and other things in lotions into my body anyway. After a lot of trial and error, I am happy to share my favorite recipe! You can use any essential oils you want, do I little research, some are great for the smell, some are great for your skin, some you can even add for emotional support, the possibilities are endless. 16 drops can be any combination of oils, some of my favorites to add is: orange, lavender, lemon, cedarwood, Melrose, jasmine, or rose. Experiment and find your favorites.
After you melt and mix everything together, put into freezer. You want to take it out when there is a solid ring around the bowl but still liquid in the middle. I have forgotten about it and it froze solid before, just put it back in the microwave and melt a little. It works best if the bowl is very cold and it looks like this picture below.
Now you just whip it with an electric mixer. It gets all fluffy and creamy.
Put into containers, I use an old cold cream bottle but I have used tupperware too. The only downside to this lotion is that if its exposed to high heat. It melts and gets all grainy, I still use it and its great lotion but it doesn’t have that creamy, easy to rub on texture as before.
Remember, your skin is the biggest organ in your body. So many of the lotions on the market today are filled with chemicals that leeches into our skin and can make us sick. Try this healthy alternative!
